Originally designed to mimic the function (not smell) of natural ambergris, that is, Ambroxan is one of those materials that has more of an effect rather than a characteristic aroma. It is clean, crisp and has a powdery depth that is also reminiscent of tobacco and clean laundry. The addition of Ambroxan is known to amplify particularly heart notes, but this is not noticeable until after a few days of blending it in.
