The best rose fragrance I’ve ever smelled to date. Initially I was a little puzzled by the fact that eugenol wasn’t present in the formula, since in the olfactory pyramid is declared cloves. So I made two small batches, one with added a small percentage of eugenol, the other without, just like in the formula. Well I must say that the difference is really minimal and the scent that comes out is really fantastic. The formula is very well structured and is perfect as it is. Great job Filipe.

OMG. HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS ONE. Despite not having many materials (substituting some, and omitting others), I successfully created a similar POAL. What I love about having the formulas of the perfumes is that I can learn what materials give that specific accord. And in Portrait of a Lady, the surprise was huge. You have to buy the formula to see it, all I can say is that the core DNA of the perfume is the accord of the rose materials and a very very very used AC. Had I done my homework and blended the basic accords, I would have stumbled upon this. Never mind, cutting corners. Thank you, Felipe, you are great!

This one is a quite intoxicating rose. I loved the opening with the prominent cumin note which gives a great depth and a new dimension. It is quite strong and I can still smell it on my clothes after a day. If you enjoy rose oriented perfumes, you should definitely try this one.

Perfect formula! Rose and Spice with some woody touch.
Round scent which smell very rich and has a depth as perfume develop. Good sillage, very long lasting.

I can confirm, it does smell like the original version. It has that expensive after smell that the original has, smells of an old oil paint in a wooden old house. I love this. Finished making it yesterday 20/1/2024 and just smelled it this morning on the strip, can’t help but going back and forth to smell it again.

I think this is better than the actual perfume, however I did add a little extra of my own, I am not sure how long to leave but will see it in 1 months time as it smells insanely good already after 2 days resting.
I would love to see A Duchess rose type as it’s definitely a contender against this fragrance.
Well done as you captured the smell of POAL but I think it’s better your version.

This is the most beautiful rose perfume I’ve smelled, and the formula is wonderful. That said, Filipe isn’t kidding about this being a much stronger rose profile than newer formulations. Be ready because it is dense. Not dated, but also not modern.

I recommend this formula for those looking to achieve a very rich, dense, ‘vintage’ style but rendered in a way that is modern in construction and also comes across as modern in smell. There is nothing surprising here but that is the beauty of learning from the very best fragrances, knowing you need to pick the materials that fit the concept and not deviate from that.

That’s what my coworker who owns POL said when she tried it. This fragrance is unique and gives a women elegant presence. It’s really grown on me, as have a lot more fragrances as I try more and more formulas
