I haven’t smelled the original in a while, but this formula smells extremely close to what I remember, despite heavily relying on captives. Not only does it showcase the key aspects of a brilliant modern bestseller, it also teaches you how to balance certain overdoses. It’s also not often that you encounter a full-fledged pear accord in perfumery.
Now, a small piece of advice. Replacing Mahonial with Lyral, use half of the stated dose. I’ve noticed in many cases that these two are not equal in terms of impact. Mahonial is much lighter and more ethereal. Add more than 2% of Lyral and it will smudge everything, flattening the entire composition with an aldehydic, watery texture. As for Georgywood, I simply went with Orbitone and substituted Akigalawood with Akigala Extreme.
