This one is great. Just like it is described: Woody Floral and Musky.
Stay in the 10% Dilution range because it gets really strong above that

I have loved the original Dior Homme since it first came out and was fascinated by the idea of a masculine iris. What surprised me a lot in the formula was the high amount of lavender which in the beginning after mixing had me also concerned this is a mistake but it settled and blended and now I have a bottle on my shelf and wear this very often – it is a perfect elegant masculine. Excellent overall. In addition, I made my own variation with a few more deep woody notes to intensify the structure.

I remember the vintage original which was ahead of its time for its manly iris notes, and this formula is a great study towards understanding that aspect!

I don’t know the vintage version of this perfume, but the result you get with this formula is really great! I recommend always using the best quality of lavender and above all that it is well preserved and fresh. Lavender, especially if it is of poor quality, tends to turn rancid over time and could ruin an entire batch of fragrance concentrate. Personally, I really love Haute Provence lavender, certified (AOP) and organic.

A relatively simple formula for men with classical characteristics. It is a floral-woody perfume with 75 % components from these areas. It is a classical scent with a lot of lavender and a good choice for those, who like masculine classic scents.

I have tried the v3 version of this formula, and I gotta say I am quite impressed. Very close to the original. In fact I have a decant from the OG and the slight difference in the opening I can relate to the fact that my new mix is fresh and barely macerated compared to the decade old OG. Really good first buy for me, I will definitely try out some more from the selection.

What I would recommend this formula for in terms of study is how other floral elements outside of the orris family help to construct an orris note. I have always found it is what you choose to pair the ionones with that helps to bring out an orris note as opposed to violet or wood. A few of the trace materials are also educational.
