    Fragrance Formula Feedback and Comparison

    Mohammed Miah (verified owner)

I purchased this formula some time ago, and initially, I was disappointed with the result. I’ve been working on it recently, aiming to improve it, as the original scent is my favorite—I consider it a modern Fougere fragrance.
The key differences between the original and my current formula are as follows:
    Sandalwood Note
My formula achieves a matching scent profile with the original at the 50-minute mark on the dry-down.
To reach approximately 95% accuracy, I believe I should replace the Sandalore with either Dreamwood or a high-quality sandalwood blend.
These replacements should ideally be used neat (undiluted). Alternatively, using neat Polysantol instead of Ebanol would be a better option.
The only significant difference compared to the original is that the original fragrance is a sandalwood and Polysantol bomb right from the initial spray all the way through to the dry-down. While the overall DNA of the two formulas is the same, the original is slightly lighter in general.
    Akigalawood Extreme
I bought Akigalawood Extreme from Fraterworks, but honestly, I don’t think it made any noticeable difference.
I’m not sure what it is actually supposed to smell like, but its impact seems to be masked by all the other spices, musks, and gourmand notes in the formula, where it actually makes a difference.
Overall, I would say this revised formula is a huge improvement and a good formula overall. Thanks Filip for the GC.
