The smell is very well reproduced, exaggerated in every way as in the original. Nothing more, nothing less.

This one is my first here so, multiple thoughts. First, it is really great ! At last a good Invictus ! All the materials blend very well and recreate the spirit ambery-woody / aquatic-fruity very well. Nice work !
Then, the laurel. In my previous personnal trys, for years it didn’t feat in well. Too strong. So I was surprised with the amount in this formula. Lowered it in v2 by diluting at 10% and I smelled it to strong again. In v3, dillutes at 1%, smelled it to arsh again so this is definitly a problem on my side with my nose. In v4 I removed the laurel and the result is just fine, even better that the original one. Good work !
Edit june 2025 :
Top :
Reduces greens like triplal and galbanum and Hexyl acetate to 0.1.
Replaced the adlehydes with Cucumber Aldehyde and Algenone.
Cut by half Neroli (too bright and green in the dry down).
Reduce verdox and increase bergamote to play with dhm.
Put some Herbanate (versatile and sweet)
==> To me it is much fruity and sugary and less green like that, closer to the original in the dry down.
Middle :
Increase Helional and replace Floralozone with cascalone (less anisic, less green in the dry down).
Reduce the rosy materials.
Cut real jasmin because of Benzyl acetate and Hedione HC.
Cut the Carbonate, this thing is a beast, too green to my nose.
==> Much masculine to my nose this way.
Base :
Cut Ambrinol, its bleach side was too present for me.
Replace Guaiacwood with Guaiacwood 50%, same amount. Less Rosy like that.
Put some Operanide because, I quote “Acclaimed perfumer Arcadi Boix Camps has spoken highly of Operanide. It has been used in many top fragrances amongst them Invictus for men by Paco Rabanne which cannot be reproduced without the IFF molecule”.
Increased a bit Clearwood to put the patchouli in the fougere skeleton.
Decreased a bit Coumarin, a bit too present for me.
Increased a bit Ambroxan beacause I am crazy about the results of this material in the amberwoody and musky bases.
==> Not much to say about it except I find it more linear that way, nothing commes out in this beautiful woody base at this point.
This is my V6 and I find it is really great in the dry down compared to the V1 who turned to a green and transparent vibe.
Thanks again !
