It is one of the most beautiful vetiver perfume recipe! And it is identical to the original perfume side by side!

The original is amongst my favorites and I might go so far as to say that when I wear this one I get a little more longevity from it. Brilliant formula which, despite its simplicity, holds great lessons in how to draw out some of the best facets of vetiver by surrounding it with the right supporting materials.

    WOW!

I have smelled the original years ago, so can’t give you a side by side comparison, but oh my what a great vetiver scent this is. Officially my favorite (vetiver scent) as we speak, based on this formula. Beautiful, rounded, elegant, sophisticated. To my nose its in between Encre Noire and Encre Noir L’Extreme, but richer and nuttier. I blended it on 10% and that’s already enough for me. Probably the original is more towards 20%, as Filipe suggests. Recommended if you love vetiver. Edit: just had the chance to smell the original again, and I must say I like the CF formula better 🙂 Mind you I had to replace some materials. The original has a sweet cookie/cake character that my blend doesn’t have.

A lot of modern vetivers follow a similar and very logical structure (starting point) – this is no exception. However, it is nice like all from this brand to see what are the subtle details used, and these can be incorporated as enhancing touches in other compositions.
