    Great woody perfume study

Highly recommended if you’d like to study mere (sandal)wood fragrances. The formula is spot on to the original, and I didn’t even have all materials, substituted many. As with the original, it doesn’t last long. No wonder, its big on IES and Cedarwood and other woody materials that don’t necessarily last long on skin. Want to experiment with this in a next batch adding some powerful ambers and/or other fixatives.

Highly similar formula that is satisfying to push in different directions

    LouB (verified owner)

Very similar to a present decant of TD EdP: an austere, dusty/dry committed sandalwood fragrance. One of the benefits of this formula is the tunable performance with the sandalwood-like raw materials–various ones can be increased or decreased according to the tastes and certain aspects easily played up and stacked with high quality naturals. As such, the formula is easy to sway one direction or the other to give the composition the desired character and really easy to tack onto and completely change it (i.e. one can turn this into a beautiful spicy rose, coriander, cardamom oriental fragrance, or one can make it very refreshing with lime and ginger notes). Initial experiments with natural oud yield a very positive result that keeps with the brief of incense, temples and is very zen as well as **substantially longer lasting**. Overall, from the bones of this formula can be made some very interesting, high performing compositions as well as good fun and some education. If you’re into doing a sandalwood composition, this is worth trying!
