Blended this at 100g and 20% concentration. The opening is bright and juicy — lots of Sicilian lemon, bergamot, and mandarin giving a fresh citrus hit. The base is musky and smooth, with Galaxolide, Exaltolide, and Tonalid giving good longevity and softness.
Compared to the original Renaissance, this version feels slightly more citrus-dominant and less green or aldehydic in the opening. The original has a dry, airy sparkle that mine doesn’t quite capture yet — but it’s still very wearable, and the transition into the heart is clean and pleasant.
The liquid is cloudy, which is expected at this stage due to natural oils and musks. I haven’t made any adjustments yet — letting it macerate for now to see how it evolves. Could be a great base to tweak further depending on how the top settles.

I own a bottle of the original perfume this formula was based on, and I like it enough that I decided to purchase the Creative Formulas version so that, if the original is ever discontinued, I would know how to make it myself.
I blended the formula using the exact materials called for, using neat, undiluted materials except where the formula specified otherwise. The only exception was the bergamot. I had several bergamot oils in my inventory, so I chose the one I personally like best: Bergamot “Superior” Oil, FCF from Fraterworks.
I made a 25 g batch of the compound, then added 25 g of perfumer’s alcohol. After a four-week maceration, I bottled 30 ml using a 2:3 ratio of compound to alcohol, which brought the final concentration down further to approximately 18%.
To my nose, this formula is better than the original perfume. The scent profile is essentially the same, though the citrus opening may be a tad stronger, sharper, and less aldehydic than the original, which I actually prefer. Projection and longevity are also noticeably improved. After six hours, it was still projecting from my body.
On my first full wear, about an hour after applying it, I received a compliment on the street. I had parked my car in a 15-minute zone, and the building guard came over to warn me so I wouldn’t get a ticket. He then asked me what fragrance I was wearing and where he could buy it.
I do not get this kind of projection when I wear the original perfume. Is it because I used a different bergamot oil? I honestly do not know, but I am very pleased with the result, and I plan to continue blending it exactly the same way.

This was one of the suspects when I was searching for that typical aromatic scent you often catch in the street or on café terraces. I still haven’t found it and this isn’t the one either… But what a wonderful surprise nonetheless !!!
Since I can’t stand violet-type molecules, I didn’t really enjoy the drydown of the first batch (even though the opening is beautifully fresh).
So I focused on creating my own reformulation to make it less floral and enhance the aromatic effect.
The result is unique and (to my taste) absolutely splendid !
So not only is it a beautiful formula as it is, but it also makes a superb base for an ultra-fresh mojito fragrance, finely crafted with elegance, yet above all with absolutely insane longevity. 8 hours for a freshie…
