The original Bel Ami is a vintage butch leather of the best kind. But it does feel dated and opulent. This modern reinterpretation is showing us once again the mastery of JCE to reinterpret originals into modern sensibilities. A fantastic formula as always from Filipe!

There is no surpassing the original Bel Ami and certainly this flanker with its sickly sweetness is out of place but I highly recommend this formula for one important reason: how to construct a fragrance in a very classical manner, in terms of the structure. There is nothing surprising here but it is put together in excellent proportions without too many superfluous additions (as famous perfumers are human too). No mystery here but good to see something simple and straightforward executed as such.
