I recently visited Roja store to compare and I must say it’s pretty decent in accuracy. The small details of different material can all be smelt and really appreciate it. All Roja perfume i found this to be the case.
Allot of materials quiet complex but was a nice study.

I’ve never smelled the original before, but if this formula is anything to go by, it’s complex—in the best kind of way.
The opening? Citrus-forward and full of energy. Bright, zesty, and uplifting. But then it shifts… the mids hit this classy, almost vintage French cologne vibe—like something timeless but still cool.
It’s not a quick study either. This one takes its time to unfold, which made it even more fun to explore. Layered, detailed, and rich with personality. Each note feels like it’s playing its own part in a bigger story.

In general, I carefully review any formula before mixing it; I don’t like wasting money, as I use very expensive, top-quality ingredients.
In this instance, I got carried away and added 0.06g of Birch Tar Oil Rectified, (50% dilution). I let the fragrance mature and macerate for months, yet the birch tar remains very prominent from the initial spray all the way through the dry-down 🙁 . I have to admit the fragrance is lovely, but the high birch tar content ruins it.
Perhaps one day I’ll decide to remake it with much less birch tar—it’s worth it; honestly, it makes for a very good summer fragrance.
If this is your first time mixing it, try starting with 0.02g of the 50% birch tar dilution; you can always add more if you wish, but you can’t take it out once it’s in.

Isola Blu is in my opinion one of the best men’s fragrances for its versatility. It’s citrusy, woody, smoky and addictive thru all seasons and any occasion. I have made twice, first batch was very true to original…A+ Second batch I halved the IES with Orbitone T to achieve a little bit more of a Terre D’Hermes effect…also a long time favorite! I saw another review about the smokiness from the birch tar levels of this formula and absolutely correct when dealing with this material I would recommend adding that last at 10% drop by drop until just under satisfied, let it mature at least a good month (there’s a lot going on here so be patient with this formula), reevaluate that smokiness before diluting…you can add extra if you need here, macerate this one a little longer than you would a fresh blue, lovingly let it rest you will be rewarded…A++
