    Just finished it.....

Perfect Graoefruit/Ambroxan juice. Sometimes I wish it will not change over time. This is one of them. So juicy, so delicious. I love it, even though I had to substitute two ingredients (hard to come by).

Another one performing and smelling like the original

Another educational foray. Various tweaks to it can be made to add a more tart, juicy grapefruit note while still playing nice with the amber.

    BIND BUY !

    Back-story :
Bookmarked for months, the Creative Formula “L’homme Ideal Platine Privee”, a grapefruit Woody fragrance was waiting its turn.
Always the second choice when came the time to buy and make a formula from Filipe.
Now its time as come, first reading reviews on Fragrantica had an interresting twist. “Tygar” seems way above.
More, the master perfumer Jacques Cavalier Belletrud appears to be the same behind 2 fragrances I like the most (Imagination and Ombre Nomade).
    Huh…
Too bad for you L’homme Ideal 🙂 Here comes a true banger !

    The Fragrance :
It is a WOODY grapefruit. Not a freshie, but still very refreshing !
The grapefruit is fresh, sparkling, juicy but at the service of the dry amberwoody base.
The core is sweet-transparent and spicy at the service of the fougere side.
The base is … stunning ! A dry amberwood boosted with super-powers. And it cames with its sidekick ambrette seeds. Wow ! Wow ! (Brad Pitt in Fight Club)
The animalic side is so discreet and present at the same time, it brings a soft and warm aura around you and it plays really well with the woody dryness.
    I love it !

    The performance :
It stick on my clothes at least 18 to 20 hours and on my skin almost 6, maybe more in summer.
It is not a projection beast, but it will definitly leave an incredible impression aroud you.
Above all, it is the formula that leave the most clean soapy sillage all along the dry down. A freaky good one, the kind of Bvlgary soap samples you have in the châteaux or hostels here in France when you go to a romantic week-end in the Wine back country.
One must know if you seek or dislike it.

    Formula :
As often with this Master, massive overdose of one or more molecules dominate the formula. It is very simple to understand witch ingredient does what, and yet so pleasant to wear and feel evolving along the dry down.
It is simple also to tweak if anyone want to play with.
That kind of result and possibilities with 33 materials is a blessing.
I pumped up by +1,3 ambrocenide 10% and ambroxan by +2 because I am crazy, and it works freaking great !
Pumped up also ginger by +0.3 and coriander and geranium by +0.1 because fougere.
Tuned down ylang by -0.4 because magnolan is high enough.
I did not communicate on it @home, just as usual I casualy leave a smelling strip on the table. This time 2 on the 3 where attracted to it and have a great feedback (the guys). And Mrs find it very, very good on me a couple of days later.
With only one week blending and one more week of maceration in alcohol it is ready to blast and shine outside. I can imagine in a few month !

    Materials :
I used a made in France natural grapefruit essential oil instead the methyl pamplemousse, at the same amount. Works great each time.
For the rare, hard to find or expensive molecules such as herbanate, magnolan (not magnol and its plastic glove smell) dihydro beta ionone, scentolide or muscenone : I strongly recommand to take time and get them. The amounts here are great enough to have a significant impact and play a big role to moderate the over-powered base and link the top to it.
Plus, those molecules have great smell, are usefull and versatil enough to find them frequently in formulas or play with them and please yourself.

    Trivia :
Like I said before, I’ve been triying to make a simple fougere skeleton for my beard oil (1/3 jojoba, 1/3 ricin, 1/3 argan) for years now and was pleased to see that Filipe released “At the Barber” recently, allowing me to finaly correctly achieved this long-shot objective.
As Tygar has a freaking clean soapy dry down, I compared it with 3 other formulas also soapy (Imagination, At the Barber and Sandalo). Tygar helped me go further enough to start building my own private fougere perfume formula. Can’t wait to test it ^^
This simple formula can help you in many ways. Depending of your experience, approach and expectations. Understanding fougere. Role of aromatics, d ionone b and magnolan in this particular middle. How much you can play with those classic woddy and musky materials. …

Sorry for the long post but it is relative to the joy this formula gave me.
    Hope this was useful.
This one values at least 2 coupons ! ^^

Filipe, THANK YOU a million times !
